The SVBONY SV115 O-III Narrowband Filter is designed for enhanced nebula observation in astronomy. This 1.25 inch filter allows an 18nm bandwidth of light centered on 500nm, corresponding to OIII emission lines. It significantly reduces the transmission of artificial light pollution from sources like mercury vapor and sodium vapor lights, as well as natural skyglow, to improve contrast.
Features:
* Material: High-grade optical glass with dichroic interference and anti-reflection coatings
* Diameter: 1.25 inch (26mm clear aperture)
* Thickness: 1.85mm
* Transmittance: 90% at 495.9nm and 500.7nm
* FWHM: 18±2nm
* Blocks light pollution from mercury and sodium vapor lights
* Enhances contrast for visual observation of gaseous, planetary nebulae, and supernova remnants
* Suitable for viewing bright nebulae like M42 Orion Nebula, even in heavy light pollution
* Useful for astrophotography and high-contrast imaging in light-polluted or dark sky sites
* Increases contrast between nebula and night sky; does not increase object brightness
* Fine-optically polished substrate to 1/4 wave
* Comes with a plastic case with high-pressure EVA lining
* Note: Not designed for solar observation.
