Kona Process 153 CR - The Evolution of Enduro

Often imitated but never duplicated, the Kona Process has consistently set the bar for enduro bikes, leading the charge in trail bike progression. The Process embodies a simple motto: take chances if it makes the ride more fun. What began as a bold experiment in geometry has become a revolutionary standard, flipping traditional trail bike design on its head.

The 2019 Kona Process is built to descend with authority but is also remarkably adept at climbing, delivering a consistent and confident performance across all terrains. If you’ve been searching for a long-travel, aggressive enduro bike that doesn’t compromise on the way up or down, the Process 153 CR is the bike for you.

Key Features:

KONA CARBON FRAME The Kona Process 153 CR's frame is constructed from high-modulus carbon fiber, offering a perfect balance of lightweight performance and durability. Kona's meticulous design ensures no compromise in ride quality, with fibers placed precisely where they’re needed most.

INTERNAL HEADSET The Process 153 CR features an internal headset, reducing stack height for greater adjustability in the cockpit. This allows riders to achieve their ideal fit while also simplifying maintenance with easily removable bearing cups.

TAPERED HEAD TUBE A tapered head tube adds strength where it’s needed most—at the bottom. This design distributes shock forces more effectively, extending the life of the headset and eliminating brake shudder. The triangular design enhances steering precision and balance, particularly on rough terrain.

TUBELESS COMPATIBLE RIMS Tubeless-ready rims offer multiple advantages, including increased puncture resistance, the ability to run lower tire pressures for better grip, reduced rolling resistance, and overall weight savings compared to traditional tube-and-tire systems.

12x148 BOOST AXLE The 12x148 Boost rear axle standard provides a stiffer, more durable rear wheel setup, enhancing stability and ensuring that the rear wheel remains precisely positioned within the frame. The wider spacing also offers better tire clearance, especially useful for aggressive riding.

BEAMER INDEPENDENT SUSPENSION Kona’s Beamer Independent Suspension system keeps the bike higher in its travel, allowing it to recover from hits more quickly. This system is designed for high tunability and extreme durability, delivering what Kona calls “pure shock movement” for a smooth and controlled ride, even in the roughest conditions.
